Commission Agreement
By submitting the order, the client acknowledges they have read and agree to the terms of this commission.
1. Scope of Work
The artist agrees to create a custom pet portrait in pastel, based on reference photos and details provided by the client. The artwork will be framed using conservation-grade materials and shipped upon completion.
2. Payment Terms
- A 50% non-refundable installment is required to begin the commission.
- The remaining 50% balance is due upon completion and prior to delivery or shipping.
- Payments may be made via credit card, Venmo, or PayPal.
3. Rush Fees
Commissions requested on an expedited timeline are subject to rush fees, based on availability in the artist’s schedule:
- 3-week turnaround: +$50
- 2-week turnaround: +$100
If the requested deadline cannot be accommodated, the artist will provide notice within 24 hours and the rush fee will be fully refunded.
4. Multiple Pet Charges
An additional charge of 40% per pet will be applied based on the base price of the selected portrait size. This fee will be added to the remaining balance due upon completion of the artwork.
- +1 pet: +40% of the base portrait price
- +2 pets: +80% of the base portrait price
5. Timeline
- Standard completion time is approximately four weeks from the date the deposit is received and reference materials are approved.
- Rush orders may be accommodated upon request for an additional fee.
6. Approval Process
- Clients will receive up to three rounds of approvals during the draft and planning phase. These checkpoints ensure alignment before painting begins.
- To meet agreed-upon deadlines, feedback must be provided within 48 hours of each approval request. Delayed responses may result in adjustments to the production timeline and could affect the delivery date, including rush turnaround commitments.
- Once the final draft is approved and painting has started, adjustments cannot be made unless the scope of work is revised. Any changes at that stage may incur additional costs and affect the project timeline.
7. Delivery and Shipping
- Completed portraits will be packaged securely and shipped with tracking and insurance.
- Shipping within the United States is included in the commission price.
- International shipping may incur additional costs, which will be calculated and included in the final payment due prior to shipment.
7. Returns and Cancellations
- Due to the custom nature of commissioned artwork, returns and exchanges are not accepted.
- If the client cancels after work has begun, the initial installment is non-refundable.
8. Copyright and Reproduction
- The artist retains all copyrights and reproduction rights to the commissioned artwork, including the right to use images of the work for portfolios, marketing, and prints.
- The artwork may not be reproduced, sold, or used for commercial purposes without the artist’s written consent.
9. Care of Artwork
- Pastel portraits must be framed behind glass and handled with care to prevent smudging or damage.
- The artist is not responsible for damage occurring after delivery.
